Description: Day books (1835-1852) for a Liberty, Adams County, Illinois general store, including a day book (1835-36) for a general store in Boonsport, Kentucky with a day by da listing of items sold and amounts paid and an accounts receivable record (December, 1839-October, 1841) for the Liberty store showing the purchasers, goods purchased and amounts paid or owed. The name of George F. Kelsey is entered inside the cover. The books were used later as a scrapbook and many entries are pasted over. Items sold in the Kentucky store include calico, tar, tobacco, crackers, coffee, butter, eggs, candy, brandy, whiskey, knives, silk, needles, thread, ribbons, sugar, flannel, combs, indigo, shoes, fish, chains, books, crocks, vinegar, needles, cigars, salt, hooks, yarn, meal, and plates.
