Issuances and Reports of the Center on Democracy in a Multiracial Society include a mission statement, issues of the CDMS newsletter, Reconstructing Democracy (2003-09), Captured Words/Free Thoughts- Poems from the Champaign County Jail Poetry Workshop (2008), CDMS Annual Report (2006-07), and the reports "Towards a Bibliography of Critical Whiteness Studies" (2006), "Documenting the Differences Diversity Makes" (2005), "Elusive Equity" (2010), "Implementing Diversity" (2010), "The Latino Effect" (2011), "Latinos/Latinas and Higher Education Trends," "Past Present and Future" (2008) and "Racial Microaggressions at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign" (2010).
On November 10,2000, the Chancellor and Provost appointed a campus committee to recommend action items for enhancing diversity at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.1 The committee recommended the establishment of a Center for Democracy in a Multiracial Society. In 2003, a campus Center was granted temporary status and a three year budget.2 ``
