Historical Note: Lorene "Lori" Marie Bier (nee Bialeschki) is the wife of James Bier and former staff member at the University of Illinois. The daughter of Clarence and Marie Bialeschki, she grew up in Sadorus, Illinois. She was employed as a stenographer in the Geography Department at the University of Illinois. After her retirement, she and her husband James, helped design the Japan House gardens.
