Name: Dunn, Roo

Historical Note: Roo Dunn was born in Urbana, Illinois. The son of Floyd and Elsa Dunn, he grew up near the campus of the University of Illinois. His father, an alumnus and faculty member of the Electrical Engineering Department, encouraged his son's pursuit of the arts. Dunn joined the National Academy of Dance in the late 1970s. In 1978 he began a bachelors degree in fine arts at the University of North Carolina. After working for nearly two decades in the non-profit arts sector, Dunn switched careers in the 2000s and now works in information technology. Dunn lives in Maine.
