Historical Note: Andrew "Andy" Isbell graduated from the University of Illinois with a bachelor's degree in engineering in 1988. As a student, Isbell played trumpet in the Marching Illini. He earned a masters in civil engineering from the University of Illinois in 1990. For four years he served the US Army Corps of Engineers. In 1994 he joined WDWS Radio in Champaign as a radio announcer. In 1996 he became "The Voice of the Marching Illini," serving as the announcer for home football games. He held this role until 2000 and then returned to the role from 2004 to 2018. From 2010 to 2018 he became a tax specialist in the Champaign area.
