Historical Note:
Fred Volker Luhnow attended the University of Illinois from at least 1923 to 1924, and may have been a student as late as the fall of 1926. He was a cadet sergeant in the University R.O.T.C. artillery brigade, and also competed in class soccer games and track and field.
It is unknown if he graduated from the University - he is not listed in the 1928 Illio with the rest of the class of 1927, of which he was a member when a student.
He married Mary Mildred Conn in 1928, and they had a son, Frederick Volker Luhnow, Jr. He died in Dallas, Texas, in 1972.
