Caption that accompanies photo reads, "Prof. Emeritus Phineas L. Windsor, director of the Library and Library School for 31 years before his retirement in 1940, moved from Urbana in February to make his home with his daughter, Miss Elizabeth Windsor '31, in Ames, Iowa. Students and staff of the Library honored him at a combined birthday (his 90th) and farewell party shortly before he left. At the party are, from left, Miss Isabell Grant '29, rare book room librarian; Prof. Arnold H. Trotier, A.M. '32, associate director of the Library; Professor Windsor; Miss Windsor; Elvin S. Warrick '27, A.M. '32, mathematics librarian, and Prof. Emerita Anne M. Boyd '18. Miss Windsor is on the library faculty at Iowa State College".
