Historical Note: Susan Parenti (1950-) is a composer, activist, and performer. Parenti received her bachelor's degree from Northwestern University. Following two years of study abroad, she returned to the U.S. to attend the University of Illinois. She received her master's and doctorate in composition as an advisee of Herbert Brun. She now works full time at the School for Designing a Society.
