Papers of Alberto Porqueras-Mayo (1930-), Professor of Spanish, Catalan and Comparative Literature (1968-97), including research and teaching on Catalan literature, book reviews of Porqueras Mayo's works (1957-97) , subject files organized by century, and individual files for 20th century (primarily contemporary) Catalan authors. These files include clippings from Catalan newspapers, articles, lecture notes, bibliographies and occasional author correspondence. Also included in this series are correspondence, programs, photographs and audio recordings relating to the establishment of the North American Catalan Society (NACS), its first colloquium in Urbana in 1978, and subsequent meetings, including correspondence with Presidents of Catalonia (1978, 1983, 1994) and with leading hispanists (M.
