In 1957 the Board of Trustees established the Office of Graduate Admissions, Foreign Admissions, and Extramural Registration under the auspices of Admissions, which was under the supervision of the Admissions and Records Office.1 The Board of Trustees appointed an examiner, titled Examiner, Office of Admissions and Records, to take charge of the office.2 In 1959, the head of this office was given the title Examiner, Admissions and Records.3 The name of the office and the title of the person in charge were changed to the Office of Graduate, Foreign Students, Exchange Visitors, Extramural and the Examiner of Graduate, Foreign Students, Exchange Visitors, Extramural, respectively, in 1965.4 This administrative unit was established with the appointment of Richard Dremuk as Assistant Dean of Foreign and Graduate Admissions on October 15, 1965. He became the Assistant University Dean for Foreign and Graduate Admissions and Associate Director for Foreign and Graduate admissions in 1968.5 In 1966 the office was renamed the Office of Graduate and Foreign Admissions. At that time the administrative title also changed to the Assistant Director for Admissions and Records.6 The administrative title changed again in 1968 to Associate Director.7 1969 was the first year in which different officials were responsible for graduate admissions and foreign admissions with an Associate Director in charge of the whole Office of Graduate and Foreign Admissions.8 The Administrative title changed again in 1972 to the Executive Associate Director of Admissions and Records.9 Beginning with the 1973-74 school year through 1993-94, the Office of Graduate and Foreign Admissions in any combination of words did not exist.10 The responsibilities for graduate admissions and foreign admissions were housed in separate office. There was not, however, an office of graduate admissions from 1973 to 1982.11 From 1983 to 1994 the responsibilities of graduate and foreign/international admissions were the responsibility of one person. In 1983 this person's title was Assistant Director of Admissions and Records.12 In 1989 the administrative title was changed to the Assistant Director of Admissions Processing, Graduate and International Admissions.13 The title was changed again in 1990 to the Assistant Director of Graduate and International Admissions.14 In 1993 the title was changed once more to Consultant for Foreign Credentials, Director of International Admissions, Assistant Director of Admissions.15
