Photo of Walter Elmer Ekblaw (B.A. 1910) in his offcie. Ekblaw, a former editor of the Daily Illini (1910), co-founder, along with Clarence F. Williams, of the first University homecoming (Oct. 15, 1910), and geologist and botanist of the Crocker Land expedition. The CLE was a 1913-17 exploration of the Arctic in search of undiscovered land, which, in reality, was later discovered to be a mirage. Having departed from the time by the time the mirage was discovered, Ekblaw was still an integral member.
