Title:
Zeta Beta Tau Dance-a-Thon
Date:
April 1973
Description:
Text from back of photo:
Dancing for MD: Old Huff Gym became the busiest spot in town April 6-8 when Zeta Beta Tau staked it out for a fund-raising event for Muscular Dystrophy Associations of America. Main attraction? Marathon dancing, that phenomenon of the '30s. A total of 67 sponsored couples entered competition and 46 were still on their feet and moving when the end came 52 hours later. (They had two four-hour sleep breaks along the way.) ZBT president Scott Metrick, prime mover behind the production, reported $47,000 net proceeds for Muscular Dystrophy in the sponsoring area. Locally, $27,000 was contributed, more than at any other of the 25 campuses which have staged similar events.
