Description: Postcards written by George Clinton Pinckney (1899-1968) during his time at the University of Illinois (1918-1920). Comprised of nine University of Illinois postcards depecting campus buildings and scenes from the Student Army Training Corps (SATC) with text detailing their significance to Pinckney as a student.
He points out buildings where he has classes, eats, sleeps, drills, and works; also, in one that shows a SATC flag raising on the quad, he identifies campus luminaries (Dean Thomas Arkle Clark, President Edmund Janes James) along with himself and a friend.
None have addresses or postage attached, so they were likely given to the recipients personally or enclosed with other correspondence.
Also includes letter from donor and information about George Clinton Pinckney compiled by Sammi Merritt of the UI Archives.
