Record Group 1: Harold A. Decker Papers and Recordings, 1902-2009

Consists of correspondence, music, lectures, publications, dissertations and theses, meeting notes, and recordings, documenting Harold Decker's career as a choral director. This record group is organized in three series: Series 1: Research, Instruction and Service, 1937-1984; Series 2: Music, Concert Programs, and Tours, 1880-1990; Series 3: Personal Papers, 1936-1992.

Series 1: Research, Instruction and Service, 1937-1997

Consists of Decker's research materials, including publications, presentations, and edited scores; instructional materials from his work at Wichita State University and the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign; and correspondence pertaining his service with the American Choral Directors Association and the American Choral Foundation. The series is organized into three subseries: Sub-series 1: Instruction, 1937-1984; Sub-series 2: Publications and Presentations, 1945-1984; and Sub-series 3: Service, 1942-1997.

Sub-Series 1: Instruction, 1937-1984

Consists of dissertations and theses by students for whom Decker served as advisor or as a committee member; classroom materials; collected materials produced by the University of Illinois and Witchita State University; and materials pertaining to Decker's professional research. This Sub-series is organized into four content areas: Dissertations and Theses, General Class Materials, Research Materials, and Specific Class Materials.
