Digital Surrogates from the Murray L. Babcock Papers include audio recordings from Babcock's work on the Dynamic Signal Analyzer (DSA), the "ear" to the "brain" that was Babcock's Adaptively Reorganizing Automaton (ARA). These recordings include speech and sound data which Babcock used in his work on speech analysis and synthesis with the DSA, including sampled speech and sound frequency recordings by Murray L. Babcock, Bill Atwood, and J W Atwood. Additionally, the recordings include a presentation from the 1970s by the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering on the Electrical Engineering graduate program, including a brief overview of Babcock's work with the DSA (4:15-4:45).
