Papers of Lester Muir (1907-1989) (Athletic Coaching/Kinesiology, 1931), include reminiscences and correspondence written by his former students, photographs (including two of 1960 Olympic medalist Willie May) a notebook concerning and lesson plans for physical education courses and basketball coaching in Blue Island, Illinois, course outlines and notes from anatomy, basketball, botany, football (taught by Coach Robert Zuppke, physical education, swimming, and track & field tumbling courses at the University of Illinois.

Also includes a pledge notebook from the Kappa Zeta Rho fraternity, homecoming football programs, other fraternity publications, and a biography of Muir.

The course outlines and notes are a remarkable example of Depression-era coursework from the University of Illinois.
