Scope and Contents of the Materials

Records of John "Red" Kerr (Phys. Ed.), a student at the University of Illinois from 1950-54. Kerr played for three years on the varsity basketball team then was drafted into the NBA. After his playing days ended, he spent much of the remainder of his career with the Chicago Bulls, first as coach and later as commentator.

The series contains college recruitment letters, correspondence, photographs, publications and newsclippings primarily covering his career as an Illini, but also in his later life.
