Scope and Contents of the Materials
Collection of original correspondence between Frank Pearce Sturm and William Butler Yeats in autograph manuscript and typescript, dating from 1915 June 24 to 1938 January 25. Yeats and Sturm discuss one another's writings, offering constructive feedback and editorial corrections; many letters concern Yeats' work A Vision.
Also accompanied by a group of Sturm family papers, dated 1918 December 11 through 1965 December 7, which include miscellaneous notes, copies of contemporary reviews, correspondence regarding F.P. Sturm's death and the disposal of what remained of his book collection, a family tree, and many pieces of correspondence addressed to Richard Dean Taylor, who was to edit a collection of F.P. Sturm's letters and collected works.
