Scope and Contents: This volume is a nautical lexicon composed by Sir Henry Manwayring (or Mainwaring).The lexicon, which predates John Smith's Sea-Man's Grammar and Dictionary (1691), includes the first known instances of several terms. This copy, which differs from the 1644 printed edition, was transcribed by Ralph Crane.
