Collection of architectural drawings and set designs by Edward Held, who worked on the design of Disneyland Theme Park and on the sets of numerous films from the 1930s through the 1950s.

Edward Samuel Held was born in New York City in 1894. Held was a Hollywood set and architectural designer, and lived and worked in Southern California for much of his adult life. He worked for numerous major motion picture studios, including Warner Bros., Metro Goldwyn Mayer (MGM), Twentieth Century Fox, Columbia Pictures, Universal Pictures, and RKO Studios, and created architectural and interior design drawings for many commercial and residential spaces.
Held was married to Carmen Held (born circa 1898), with whom he shared three children: Edward (born circa 1919), Alice (born circa 1927), and Joe (born circa 1932). He died in Woodland Hills, CA in 1985.

Arrangement: Oversize print materials will be stored in either oversize print shelving in UL6 South or will be stored in map cases in LL6 North. Oversize manuscript materials will, by and large, be stored in oversize boxes in UL 6 North. Collections are arranged in oversize locations by collection ID number.
