Scope and Contents of the Materials

This volume contains manuscript scores for 20 short musical compositions by several 17th-century European composers. The parts, written in the treble and alto clefs on a six-line staff, may be intended for cembalo or organ. Represented composers include Giuseppe Amadori (approx. 1670-1730), Giovanni Battista Draghi (approx. 1640-1708), Giovanni Battista Fontana (-1630), Johann Jacob Froberger (1616-1667), Tommaso Bernardo Gaffi (1667-1744), Bernardo Pasquini (1637-1710), and Matteo Simonelli (approx 1618-1696).
