Scope and Contents of the Materials

This collection consists of five manuscript scores entitled Miscellaneous Collection of Songs from Pope's Eloisa to Abelard. The scores, bound separately but in the same unidentified hand, are for voice, first violin, second violin, viola, and basso. Each contains works by Thomas Arne, Samuel Arnold, Jackson of Exeter, Henry Purcell, and Rosina Sacchini. The unknown creator also set selections from Alexander Pope's Eloisa to Abelard to music by George Frideric Handel.

Each volume has the bookplate of Edward Littleton, Baronet.
