Scope and Contents of the Materials

This volume (370 pages, not all of which are used) contains information about numerous fossils, primarily crustaceans; additional entries concern insects and annelids. Most entries consist primarily of items pasted onto the pages, including manuscript and printed taxonomies, descriptions, and drawings. Among the descriptive items laid into the volume is a fragment of an undated letter addressed to "Salter."

The volume has the bookplate of W. Sowerby.
