Origin: Written in Norwich, England in 1848. Date from first line of text. Location from witness statement in lower left corner which reads: "two of the perpetual commissioners for the city of Norwich."

Provenance: Gift of Amy Z. Gottlieb received 23 October 1987.

Blue, embossed slip of paper with marks for 9 pounds and 1 pound affixed with metal to upper left corner of the document. -- Ink stamp from Norfolk just below slip of paper.

Lacuna in upper-left portion of document surrounded by heavily worn text.

Advertisement within initial capital of text: "Charles Sparks parchment dealer Cross Street Bermondsey" encircling armorial crest of the Order of the Garter. Just below is address: "Warrington sc. 27 Strand".
