4)The Dictionary: 70 photostats of 136 leaves of typescript containing 882 entries numbered in sequence. These list Wells's "Short Pieces" together with publishing history, reprinting etc. These are handwritten notations on the faces of some photostats and on the back of others. This list resembles the manuscript list which also has the title, "The Dictionary," but this list is longer and is a later list. This list contains 882 numbered items, the earlier manuscript list contains only 103 leaves with 597 numbered items.
Phototstats are 23 x 17.5 cm, white lettering on black background.
Within the list 2 pages have the same page number; three are doubled, e. g. numbering is in sequence 46, 46a, etc., and three photostats reproduce only one mss page rather than the normal two.
In maroon spring back binder with cover label reading erroneously "Short Pieces."
5) 82 photostats and typescript sheets 23 x 17.5 cm., with reproductions of typescript pp. numbered 1 -- 130 including 10 pp. with expanded numbering (e. g. 99, 99a, 99b, etc.) and with page no. 10 omitted. At front are unnumbered index pages reproduced on 4 photostats with which are interleaved eight sheets of typescript entries in their own alphabetical arrangement with one aberation.
In green springbacked binder with cover cloth faded and broken.
Individual entries are not numbered and appear to be in somewhat chronological order.
