Papers of Josie B. Houchens (1884-1974) '05, '12, librarian (1906-1951), containing correspondence, evaluations and reports of the committees to select successors to Library directors Phineas L. Windsor (1938-39) and Carl M. White (1942); exams, quizzes and other instructional materials used in library school courses at University of Illinois and Columbia library schools; and correspondence and memorandum relating to library exhibits.

The series includes a tribute by the Board of Trustees, March 7, 1974.
