This collection consists of one land deed and two real estate mortgages for adjoining parcels of land in DeWitt County, Illinois, from 1869, 1870, and 1871.
DeWitt County, located in central Illinois, is part of the Bloomington-Normal metropolitan area. The city of Clinton is the county seat.
This collection consists of three documents relating to adjoining parcels of land in DeWitt County, Illinois. The first document is a deed of sale for 80 acres of land from the Illinois Central Railroad Company to Benjamin F. Cresap in 1869. The second is a real estate mortgage from George and Virginia Brown to John Bishop for 40 acres in 1870. The last real estate mortgage is from Nathan and Helen Priest to Albert Dewey in 1871. The section of land had been conveyed to Priest from the Illinois Central Railroad Company.
