Scope and Contents:
This collection contains photostats of five letters sent to and collected by Robert Edwin Jameson, surgeon of the 29th Mass. Vol. Inf. in the Civil War. Correspondence includes three letters to his mother and two letters to his brother dated 1860-1862.
In his letters sent to his mother, Robert Edwin Jameson discusses his political views of the war, his military experiences, and his visit to Washington, D. C. In an additional two letters sent to his brother, he describes military camp conditions and food.
The original letters are located in the R. E. Jameson collection in the Library of Congress.
