Scope and Contents:
This collection includes ephemera and memorabilia related to the Looking for Lincoln Heritage Coalition.
The coalition began as a cooperative effort by local communities and historic sites in central Illinois to promote their connections to Abraham Lincoln. In 2008, the coalition gained the responsibility of managing the Abraham Lincoln National Heritage Area. Established by the federal government, the heritage area covers the same range of Illinois counties as the coalition, and both organizations promote local heritage and culture by focusing on the life of Abraham Lincoln.
The collection consists of six individual items. Ephemera include a program of events held at Lincoln historic sites and a traveler's map and description of Looking for Lincoln sites. Memorabilia include two buttons, a refrigerator magnet, and souvenir sunglasses.
Collection items were donated by Cathy Mancuso and Mark Johnson in 2002 and library staff in 2015.
