Scope and Contents:

The record book for the town of Fairfield, Wayne Co., Ill., contains minutes for the meeting incorporating the town on June 1, 1846; election results; boundary settlements; the constitution and by-laws; ordinances; records of the Board of Trustees meetings; and a treasurer's report from Jan. to July 1875. Other items include an 1859 list of road taxes, a certificate of the election of town trustees, June 1, 1861, and a petition regarding the incorporation of the town.
