This collection consists of artifacts and objects related to the life and legacy of Abraham Lincoln.
The IHLC Collection of Lincoln Artifacts consists of artifacts and objects created to commemorate the life and legacy of Abraham Lincoln, including photographs and drawings; sculptures, busts, and casts; medals; and slabs and bricks from specific Lincoln-related buildings. Various artifacts and objects from this collection have been housed within the Lincoln Room (the predecessor to the Illinois History and Lincoln Collections) since its dedication in 1953, and IHLC has acquired many others in the time since. Several artifacts within this collection are on display throughout the unit, such as a Lincoln bust, various Lincoln portraits, and the Lincoln Ox Yoke.
This is an artificial collection created by IHLC staff. The items in this collection were donated or purchased at various dates from several sources. Provenance information, when known, is included at the item level in the finding aid.

Related Materials: IHLC MS 781: Harlington Wood Jr. Papers, 1910-2004. Contains draped bust of Lincoln by Leonard Volk, which was originally donated by Judge Wood and included in the Harlington Wood Jr. Papers. This bust was moved to MS 129: IHLC Collection of Lincoln Artifacts, 1831-1992 in 2026.
