Scope and Contents:
James Burrill Curtis (1822-98) and his brother, George William Curtis (1824-92), were students at the school that formed part of the Brook Farm Community, West Roxbury, Mass. In these letters to his father, George, Curtis discusses family matters, financial issues, and his life at Brook Farm.
Arthur E. Bestor, Jr. acquired these letters for the Library. Most of them were published by Joel Myerson in "James Burrill Curtis and Brook Farm," New England Quarterly, 51 (Sept. 1978), 396-423.
