Scope and Contents:
B. J. Cigrand (1866-1932), a dentist in Aurora, Ill., collected material regarding Abraham Lincoln and wrote brief articles about him. In 1931, he inscribed a proof copy of a title page of Abraham Lincoln, Prophet and Patriot; Ancestry-Service; Critics Answered (1925) to Albert H. Griffith, a Lincoln collector in Fisk, Wisc. There follows ten folios of copies of Lincoln material, including reprints of articles and poetry by Cigrand as well as reproductions of Lincoln photographs and letters. The Library acquired Cigrand's collection, and five miscellaneous items, in 1946. The folios in this collection are currently cataloged and shelved at: 973.7L63 BC48a; Monaghan 2764.
