The Zinser Family papers center on Anne V. Zinser's work with numerous charitable institutions. The wife of Melford E. Zinser, a successful dentist in Chicago, Anne was involved in a number of philanthropic and cultural endeavors in addition to being a successful businesswoman in the field of personnel services. This collection documents Zinser's work with the Lyric Opera, the Country Riding Club, the Holiday Home Benefit, the Bartelme Home for Girls, the American Scandinavian Foundation, and various Chicago museums. The collection also includes records from Zinser's service as president of the Alliance of Business and Professional Women in Chicago. In addition, the collection contains papers from Zinser Personnel Service, and Dr. Zinser's dental practice, mainly correspondence, business records, and papers from dental conferences.
Bryan Zinser, nephew of Anne and Melford Zinser , donated the collection to the Illinois Historical Survey in 1978.
