Scope and Contents:

Helen (Nellie) Walker, an 1878 graduate of Geneseo (Ill.) High School became a teacher in nearby Munson Center. For Christmas 1880, Walker's students gave her this 40-page scrapbook, which she filled with unidentified and undated newspaper clippings, 1878-89, holiday illustrations, maps, and her high school reunion program. The clippings concern American and European affairs and history, religious thought, literary notices, domestic advice, Midwestern scenery, and travel.

In 1990, James R. and Helen E. Davies donated the scrapbook to the Library in memory of Joseph L. Shaw and his wife.
