Scope and Contents: This collection contains photostats of letters to and from Alexander Stephens, Vice-President of the Confederate States of America, mainly concerning the Civil War and the events leading up to it. There are also two articles, entitled "Civil War" and "Hampton Roads Conference." The copies were made from originals in the Library of Congress.
