Scope and Contents:
This volume contains personal records of Joseph Duncan, Governor of Illinois, 1834-38. Included are a series of ten sketch maps of townships where Duncan had land holdings; 165 indexed pages where Duncan pasted newspaper clippings about his administration, with notes and some extended diary entries; pages from the Journals of the House and Senate for 1840-41; and excerpts from state documents in which Duncan's speeches and proposals were printed.
