Scope and Contents:
Albert B. Zybell (1860-1948), an undertaker, embalmer, and furniture dealer in Monticello, Illinois, used this account book to record funeral expenses, including such items as clothes, vaults, coffins, flowers and accessories. The 270-page account book and 59 miscellaneous receipts were acquired by the Illinois Historical Survey in 1974, and duplicated for Monticello's Allerton Public Library in 1994.
