Description:

First Co-ed to wear the eagle war-bonnet of Illiniwek is Idelle Stith, Fairfax, Oklahoma, an authentic Osage Indian princess. The part of Illiniwek was introduced into between-halves pageantry at Illinois home football games in 1926. Six men have worn the costume representing the University's traditions. Miss Stith, Illiniwek VII, is the first co-ed.
