Stratton and Livingston Farrand. The 1929-30 file contains correspondence of the Alumni Association Committee on the Selection of a President (Robert Carr, Charles S. Pillsbury and Fred L. Wham) with trustees, deans, faculty, alumni and officials at other universities including David Kinley, George A. Barr, Roger Adams, Arthur H. Daniels and Max Mason about and with candidates Harry W. Chase, Ralph D. Hetzel and Baldwin M. Woods. This file includes lists, biographical sketches and grade sheets for many other candidates suggested by faculty and alumni. The 1933-34 file contains correspondence of the alumni committee (again under Carr's chairmanship) with Max Mason, Edward E. Barrett, Merle J. Trees, George A. Barr, Roger Adams, Charles A. Kiler and alumni concerning candidates Arthur C. Willard, Roger Adams, Ralph Hetzel, Alfred C. Hanford and others. The 1944 file contains correspondence with George E. Woods, other members of the alumni committee and alumni concerning candidates and qualifications for the presidency.
