Biographical Note
Richard Cook, born in Chicago 1910, received his college education at the University of Illinois. He earned a B.S., M.S., and Ph.D. in physics in 1931, 1932, and 1934. He was a prominent physicist in the field of acoustics. He worked in numerous research capacities including working for the National Bureau of Standards of the U.S. Department of Commerce. Dr. Cook died in 2006.
