Scope and Contents of the Materials

Bevier Historic Costume and Textiles Collection Management Files (1873-1998) contains correspondence, essays, publications, descriptions, news clippings, slides, photographs, tintypes, accession records, and cataloguing cards concerning the history, disposition, management, preservation, exhibitioning, and loaning of the historic costume collection of the School of Human Resources and Family Services in Bevier Hall, and subsequently (ca. 1992) administered by the World Heritage Museum. This series includes glass lantern slides and negatives of historical examples of lace and lace patterns and commercially produced slides of 19th and 20th century fashions.

Box 7 files were transferred from the World Heritage (now Spurlock) Museum when the Historic Costume Collection was moved there from Bevier Hall.
