The Department of Administration and Supervision was created in 1962 in a reorganization plan in the College of Education.¹ In 1973 the name was changed when the Department merged with former programs in Higher Education and Continuing Education. The Department now consists of three Divisions: the Division of Educational Administration and Supervision, the Division of Higher Education and the Division of Continuing Education of Adults.² The Department prepares students for professional positions in educational organizations, and conducts national and regional research programs.³

The Office for the Study of Continuing Professional Education was established in 1973,⁴ and serves as a center for the study of issues in continuing professional education in diverse career fields.⁵
