CATV Committee Files including a May 31, 1972 letter from Chancellor Jack W. Peltason listing committee members and the proposals of eight corporations bidding on the cable television franchise for Champaign, Urbana and the University of Illinois. Proposals relate to corporate ownership and financial resources, ownership or connection with other cable systems, organizational structure, qualifications of principals and personnel, construction and engineering plans, maintenance and operation plans, costs and fees, and services to the community and University. The corporations making proposals were Tele Cable Corporation; Henry, Klungness and Lahey; Continental Cablevision; General Electric Cablevision Corporation; Sentinel Communications of Champaign-Urbana; Champaign-Urbana Communications; LVO Cable of Champaign-Urbana and Cypress-Teledata of Champaign-Urbana.
