National Conference on Research in English Subject File contains annual reports, meeting minutes, conference programs, directories, committee files, and correspondence created by the National Conference on Research in English (NCRE), an affiliate organization founded in 1932 (incorporated 1937) by NCTE members who felt elementary education and research weren’t yet represented in NCTE; files were likely collected by Walter Petty for his NCRE Research Committee project (1976-82) which documented the organizational history of NCRE from 1936 until 1980.
