Record Group 8: Charles C. Hirt Papers, 1923-2001

Consists of research, course materials, publication notes and drafts, and choral programs and workshops spanning the professional career of Charles C. Hirt, who served as ACDA national president from 1970-1972. It contains materials from his teaching and directing career at the University of Southern California, including teaching materials, newspaper clippings and publicity, general correspondence and tribute letters, programs and photographs. This collection also documents Dr. Hirt’s book writing activities; his involvement with the Walt Disney Company and the Olympics, as well as a variety of festivals, clinics, workshops, and tours. This record group is organized into four series: Series 1: ACDA; Series 2: Choral Performances; Series 3: Research, Publications and Instruction; and Series 4: Personal Papers and Audio Recordings.

Series 1: ACDA, 1959-1998

Consists of correspondence, national convention programs and planning, journals, addresses and meeting notes. Hirt was president of the ACDA from 1970 to 1972. Arranged alphabetically by subject title.
