Papers of Mac Elwyn Van Valkenburg (1921-1997), professor of Electrical Engineering (1955-66, 1974-88) and Dean of College of Engineering (1984-88), contain correspondence (1947-92), materials relating to conferences and associations (1950-92), including the American Society for Engineering Education (ASEE) the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), and the Engineers' Council for Professional Development (ECPD), publications (1946-91), drafts of Network Analysis (1956), Introduction to Modern Network Synthesis (1960), Linear Circuits (1982) Analog Filter Design (1982), and columns for the IEEE/ASEE newsletters (1980-91), course materials (1949-93) for electrical engineering courses on analog filter design, electrical circuits, circuit, system, and signal analysis, network systems and synthesis, and servomechanics taught at the University of Utah, Stanford University, the University of Hawaii, Princeton University, the University of Arizona, and the University of Illinois, coursework completed at the University of Utah and Stanford University (1940-50), and photographs (1948-93) of Van Valkenburg and colleagues and of electrical equipment.
