Benner, dean of the College of Education (1931-45) and professor of education (1931-62), including correspondence, manuscripts, reports, clippings and publications relating to the University of Puerto Rico (1930, 1969), positions at other universities (1930-41), needs of the College of Education (1934-42), articles and talks on educational topics (1931-45), school studies (1937-45), Chicago schools controversy (1938), a hearing of administrative charges against Dean Benner and expressions of faculty support (1944-45), laboratory school proposals (1945), Austrian education (1946-48, 1967), service as an UNESCO educational consultant in Korea (1950-52), a Turkish experimental secondary schools project (1954-57) and professional activities in the College of Education (1949-53, 1959-63).

The series includes a 1969 autobiographical statement concerning education, Alabama School work, chancellorship of the University of Puerto Rico (1924-29), the College of Education at Illinois (1931-62) and educational work in Austria (1946-47), Korea (1950-52), Turkey (1953-54), Israel (1957) and Puerto Rico (1963-69).
