Description: Papers of John L. Lynch '40 (1917- ) including a copy of "All of It I Knew, Some of It I Saw, Part of It I Was...the Story of John L. Lynch, the Memoirs of One of General Patton's...Commandos" containing an autobiographical account of Lynch's boyhood and family in Illinois, life in Urbana and at the University, the ROTC, military service with the 10th infantry in the 5th Division in Iceland (1941-43), England and Ireland, France and Germany. The volume contains an account of Lynch's discharge (February 1946) and subsequent career, his views of General George S. Patton and photocopies of photographs, documents, newspaper clippings and publications.
