Howe (1849-1931), Principal of the Preparatory School (1893-1902), including correspondence (1893-1900, 1905-06), brochures, programs (1895, 1901-02, 1905-06, 1908-09), clippings, notices, forms and photographs relating to the university and the preparatory school, the Howe home near the Observatory (1894-95), applications for teaching positions, supplies and equipment, course assignments and offerings and conferences and a zoology and physics class record book (1896-97). Correspondents include Andrew S. Draper, E. Jerome Townsend, David Kinley and Thomas J. Burrill. The series includes clippings and publications relating to Prof. Howe's children: Ralph B. ~04; Paul E. ~06, AM ~07, Ph.D. ~10; Alice ~07; Mary Howe Bebb ~09; Amy L; Edward G. Jr. ~14 and Roger F. ~18. The series includes a copy of "An Investigation of Retail Vegetable Seeds," a 1904 B.S. thesis by Ralph B. Howe and family history notes (1863-85).
